FAQs

Piano and singing lessons range from $25 a half an hour, $40 for 45 minutes and $50 an hour.

When initially meeting a new student, I find out what the student is hoping to achieve with their lessons, any previous experience they may have, what style of music they are interested in and discuss with the student how I would typically run a music lesson. I would begin working with the new student on a piece/song, discovering through this process where they are in regards to musical knowledge, experience and skills. With this process, I have then gained a solid framework and foundation for where to take future lessons with the student.

I have completed a Bachelor of Music Classical Performance with Honours (first class), majoring in Voice. I have completed the grade 6 AMEB piano exam I have been learning singing and piano for 10 years.

I began teaching piano and singing shortly after completing my bachelor of music performance degree in *information hidden*

I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds from 5 years of age through to mature aged students. Students come with varying levels of experience and for various reasons and it is my aim to help each student achieve in their musical journey

I recently had a student sit an AMEB piano exam. I have also helped singing students prepare for music performances. Preparation for these performances occurred over a 6-12 month period.

All teachers are different with various teaching styles and approaches. The best advice I can give is to find the teacher best for you that suits your requirements.

Before finding a piano and singing teacher, I would consider what the student is hoping to get out of their experience, any goals they may have and whether the student is approaching lessons with fun in mind or something more serious. I would also consider how much experience and knowledge they have with music as this will impact how the teacher approaches the lessons. Finally, it is helpful for teachers if the student considers what style of music they are interested in.
