Bachelor, Masters and Phd in social work and Family Health

From social work then into private practice in New Zealand as a Family Court counsellor working with couples that had separated and wanted to work on custody arrangements then onto Functional Family Therapy working with youth with conduct disorders and attachment issues.

Six weeks working with a couple who adopted a son who had attachment issues. He wouldn't relate well with people and was abusive to his sister. The sister was a biological child of the couple. In the end we worked on the mother's preference to the sister which made the son not feel part of the family. The mother was taught skills to involve the son more in family activities and the entire family's function changed from dysfunction to a positive, vibrant family.
