I usually charge $550 as a base fee, and add on extras such as the Immigration Visa support letter, the use of my Public Address system, and travel out of the A.C.T. as $50 extras for each of those items.

I meet with them either in my home, their home, or even in a cafe if that it easier for all of us. We discuss their plans and wishes for up to an hour if necessary, obligation free, and if they choose me we can commence the Notice of Intended Marriage document. If they choose to see other Celebrants before making up their minds, that is fine by me.

I am a qualified Celebrant, having trained with the International College of Celebrancy in Melbourne. I also have teaching and social work qualifications and experience.

On retirement from running my own business, I decided that I was too young in heart to stop work, so I studied, and qualified as an Authorised Celebrant.

Couples of all ages, from 18 to 80. Their choices of ceremony have varied enormously which reflects the wide range of people that I have met.

I performed a marriage for an Australian national and a Chinese citizen in a beautiful venue in Canberra which is specifically set up for ceremonies of all types. At the end of a heartwarming ceremony there was a traditional Chinese tea ceremony where the Australian served tea to the new parents in law, and the Chinese person served tea to the other new parents in law. It was a ceremonial way of joining the two families together. It added another 10 minutes to the 20 minute ceremony.
